About Nova Bricks
Nova Bricks was established in 2000 and is situated on the eastern side of Pretoria adjacent to the Rietvlei Dam on the R50 (Delmas Road). The company is family owned and managed and is a proudly South Africa company that employs over 250 people.
Nova Bricks is ideally placed to service the major developing hubs of Gauteng. Our product range consists largely of FBA (Face Brick Aesthetic) and NFP (Non-Face Plaster) bricks, that conform to the highest quality standards and fully comply with the SABS 227.
Green Clamp Kiln Project
Nova is working with the Clay Brick Association of South Africa, and the Environmental Engineering Group (Department of Chemical Engineering) at the University of Pretoria to build and test emissions of clamp kilns with the objective of reducing air pollution and environmental impact while improving measurement accuracy.
The full-scale test kiln which has been erected on Nova Brick’s premises is approximately 2m wide, with a depth (from one side of the kiln “slice” to the other) of 10m and a height of approximately 4m. This allows the test section to have the height and width of a small full-size kiln. The sides of the “slice” would consist of brick walls, suitably reinforced and with the option of having air passages through the walls to allow simulation of lateral air flow from both sides.
